Adopt a Pet

girlkittenLooking for a pet? The Toledo Area Humane Society has hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and more all looking for their forever home! Someone here needs you!  Search Our Adoptable Pets.

Animals that are available for adoption come to us as once-loved pets surrendered by their owner, transferred to us from the Lucas County Dog Warden or come to us from one of our Cruelty Investigator Officers rescued from a situation involving abuse or neglect. These are all animals that are in need of a loving family to care for and love them!

Upon arrival, each animal will receive a health check by our staff veterinarian, all age-appropriate vaccines, and a temperament/ behavior evaluation. Once the animal is deemed healthy and safe, they are spayed or neutered by our in-house veterinarian and put up for adoption.

It is our goal to help every animal at-risk for abandonment or cruelty, and to find a home for every adoptable animal. The Toledo Area Humane Society is the only animal welfare group in this community who will give refuge to any animal at-risk for abuse or neglect, regardless of its type, health, age or whether we have space.

Never hesitate to contact us at the Toledo Area Humane Society if you have any questions about what type of pet might be the best for your lifestyle. We have an ever-changing array of animals with different needs and personalities that might be perfect for you.

Or better yet, stop by and visit us at 1920 Indian Wood Circle in Arrowhead Park, Maumee. You never know who will choose YOU!
