Join us for the Bark in the Park on Sunday, May 19 and the Humane Hustle 5K on Saturday, June 8!
WE DID IT! We won the North Central Division for the 2012 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. We were awarded a $25,000 grant, added to the $5,000 Fast Start grant we won in August for a total of $30,000 to help more animals in our community! Not only did we reach our goal of 878 adoptions between August and October, we far surpassed it! TAHS helped 1,190 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies find their new forever homes in just 3 months! That's 612 more than during the same three-month timeframe last year.
We knew achieving 878 adoptions in just 3 months was a lofty goal, but we also knew that striving to reach that goal meant that we would help even more animals in need.
From all of the staff and the animals at TAHS - THANK YOU to everyone who supported and encouraged us through the 2012 Challenge!
TAHS Staff and Members of the ASPCA Awards Committee

This year's ASPCA Challenge will take place from June 1 through August 31. During the Challenge, the goal for each competing shelter is to increase their adoptions by at least 300 over the same time period last year. (Unfortunately, pocket pets do not count towards our total number of adoptions for the Challenge.) We know we have a BIG challenge ahead of us, but we were so inspired by participating in last year's Challenge that we wanted to participate again this year and help even more animals find their forever homes!
As part of the second round of the Challenge, there will be a community voting which could help TAHS win an additional $25,000 in prize money to help save more animals right here in our community. Voting will take place August 15 through August 31. We'll share more details closer to the voting round.
We feel incredibly appreciative and proud to have such an expansive support system behind us. We were thrilled and humbled to do so well in last year's Challenge and we're very excited to participate again this year. We hope we can count on your continued support, through the Challenge and beyond. Together we can save more lives!
